A friendly volunteer-run club on Toronto's Humber Bay
This course is required by law to legally operate a VHF radio on pleasure or commercial vessels operating twenty five miles or less from shore. VHF / DSC is a vital piece of safety equipment allowing you to send and receive emergency messages. You can also initiate and receive safety messages broadcast by other boaters and the Coast Guard. You can use the VHF radio to contact other boaters, Yacht Clubs or marinas to reserve a slip for the night. This course is two three hour sessions and entails classroom along with a practical session simulating emergencies on the water using proper radio etiquette.
Cost: $132.00 plus HST
