Sail our Dinghies  

The goal of our Dinghy Fleet Membership is to give adults the opportunity to sail club dinghies for the entire season, without having to own your own boat. Our fleet is currently comprised of 420s, RS Visions and a Laser (Radial or Full Rig). For advanced sailors looking for more of a challenge, we also have a 29er. 

Fees for Dinghy Fleet Membership start at $460 but can cost as little as $170 if you graduate from one of our CANSail courses in the current year. Our dinghy fleet membership season runs from June 1 to Sept 30.

Advanced sailors who have their CANSail 3 and above (or equivalent) can pay an additional membership fee to have access to our club-owned 29ers.

If you are interested in joining both the Keelboat and Dinghy fleet programs, the total price is $150 + HST on top of the Keelboat Fleet Program price.

Dinghy Fleet Membership Options 

Depending on your ability and training you may be classified as either a New Skipper, Boat Captain, or Advanced Boat Captain.

• New Skippers must have achieved their CANSail 2 certification (or equivalent) and must sail with other dinghy fleet members, or by themselves. This falls under the standard fleet membership prices below.

• Boat Captains must have achieved a minimum of CANSail 3 (or equivalent) and may sail in stronger winds than New Skippers. Boat Captains may take out a non-fleet member guest in moderate winds. Boat Captains with sufficient experience may also skipper a club dinghy during our Tuesday/Thursday club races, or other club sailing events. Boat Captains can also pay an additional fee to extend their membership into October. This falls under the standard fleet member prices below.

• Advanced Captains must have achieved a minimum of CANSail 3 (or equivalent), and paid for the advanced dinghy fleet membership. This gives access to our club-owned 29ers. Advanced Captains can also pay an additional fee to extend their membership into October.

• Extended Membership is available as an add-on, for an additional fee, to members who have achieved CANSail 3 or above. This allows you to sail in October (normal membership season ends Sept 30). Select this option along with one of the above options when registering to join and add it on.

• Youth Membership is available to student currently on the youth race team. This allows them to sail after school hours, under supervision of TSCC staff.

We run many events throughout the year, including fun intro race nights for Fleet Members on Monday evenings, special cruise nights, and BBQs. 

Fleet Members are considered full members of the club, and have access to club facilities throughout the year. This includes the restaurant, bar, BBQS and shower/washroom facilities. Fleet Members are required to contribute 8 volunteer work hours to the club (4 hours for members joining in July, 2 for members joining in August).  Unworked hours are billed at $35/hour.
