Crewing is an inexpensive way to get started in sailing - or for seasoned sailors to get on the water without owning a boat. You may sail with boat owners during all club events, including regular Tuesday and Thursday night club races.
This membership is also for friends that regularly paddle with, or use the boats of, canoe / kayak / outrigger members.
This membership is solely for those who sail on member’s boats for races and events. Skippers often seek crews for weekend sailing regattas as well as the regular Tuesday/Thursday evening series. For those new to crewing, keel boats are a good start as they require up to five crew and can accommodate a variety of skills. For the more adventurous the club has an active Wayfarer dinghy racing fleet which offers highly competitive and thrilling racing experiences. Crew lists are posted by skippers seeking crew on the blackboard by the clubhouse entrance about an hour before first gun. To be sure of getting a "ride", prospective crew should be at the club by 5:30pm.
The member cannot use boat storage space or bring a boat to the club. The Sailing Racing Crew membership is $50.
Paddling Crew membership is for members of Dragon Boat teams and Outrigger canoe teams. Paddling members apply through their respective teams. The cost is $200.
Our membership year runs October 1-Sept 30 and fees are not pro-rated for partial years. Contact the Membership Director with any membership questions.
